Bathrooms are open ceiling and with this many bugs. We had a beehive next to our shower. We went from Feb 21-24, 2025. It is 30min away from Leticia. The entrance had been destroyed by a fallen tree which caught us by surprise. You need to walk about 10min from the entrance to the dining room by yourself into the jungle. Once in the room it was packed with mosquitos and bugs, though clean. We had to ask for some kind of insecticide and for the staff to fumigate our room thoroughly. There were 2 ladies serving the meals, one cook and a handyman. It was scary to be out in the jungle when they left for the night. Food was amazing, local and delicious. The cook did not show up on our second day and we ended starting 30min later for our tours after scrambled eggs and fruit. On day three coming back from our tour there were 12 people bursting into rooms that were open yelling and cheering. We later were told they were family from the gardener. This was very scary. We were offered a talk with an elderly person from the community with ancestral leaves preparation and it never happened. It seems a very fragile hotel in infrastructure. The last day no one saw us out to the door or offer to carry our luggage. I had the pleasure of staying at Buru in order to immerse myself in the Amazon. Jhony and Jose, the proprietors and hosts, created Buru with the vision to allow visitors to be "one with the Amazon". From the detailed natural construction to the eco-friendly amenities to the locally sourced and expertly prepared gourmet meals, Buru is a sanctuary to receive, connect with, and enjoy the intricacies of the Amazon. Jaime and Avi's culinary skills are top notch as every meal was a true learning experience. And, my Amazon guides, Alex and Dennis are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and ensure safe exploring deep in the jungle. Buru felt like my home away from home. Este hotel es magia pura, desde sus habitaciones como casas del árbol, la comida, la maloca, y la atención de Johny y Joan... Sin duda uno de los lugares más impresionantes en donde me he quedado. Rodeados de selva, los sonidos de la naturaleza son impresionantes durante la noche. La comida de Joan se merece todas las Estrellas Michelin del mundo, sus creaciones culinarias y el amor que le ponen a cada platillo de autor en Burú es irrepetible. Sin duda, muy recomendados. Burú sorprende, sorprende encontrar allí un Hotel tan confortable, lleno de detalles. Es maravilloso aterrizar en Leticia Colombia en la selva del amazonas, y llegar a Burú en 20 minutos en carro. La habitacion en que dormí es a 12 metros de altura entre los árboles, es increible. Cama King (dos metros), baño con agua muy abundante y una terraza privada a 8 metros de altura es realmente bello. Escuchas y sientes allí la naturaleza, las aves, el viento y la exuberante selva. No me picó ni un solo sancudo, siempre tuve repelente común. Caminas por senderos a un metro sobre el suelo, y bajas a un recorrido dirigido por un Abuelo de corazón dulce, coo él dice. La comida es una fusión de productos exoticos y peces del río, excelente, muy bien presentada, no probamos nada mejor en la región, y eso que se come muy bien en todo el amazonas, se nota la influencia Peruana. Viajé con mi pareja y ambos quedamos encantados con el lugar. Desde el servicio excepcional hasta la comodidad de las instalaciones, todo superó nuestras expectativas. Inmejorable !, vivir mi último cumpleaños no 49, fue fascinante , jhony es un gran anfitrión , vivir ecoturismo a nivel lujo no tiene precio, vale la pena , contratar los tours , para no llegar a la aventura . Puedes llegar a descansar . Me quedé en una habitación, a 12 mts de altura , rodeada de naturaleza , me sentía en avatar , el sonido es inigualable , la experiencia en la amaloca es fascinante con el abuelo , hechando el tarot de la selva muy atinado , la comida wow wow , el Comedor comunitario hermoso , jacuzzi amooo , todo , es wow , los jugos fascinantes , cuidan los detalles , si tienes una celebración en especial no dudes en celebrarlo , ya que es memorable !! For many years we wanted to go to Leticia and visit the Amazon river, but we were not sure of how accomodation would be in there. Fortunately, we happen to meet an old friend that highly recommend Buru and we made a reservation for four days. Since pick up at the airport the experience was great. We have the chance to take several tours and everyone there were helpful and considered. The room was comfortable and spacious. Food was excellent and varied.
